David grew up in Marlborough, this slice of paradise is his home, and he is passionate about the local terroir. His experience in the classic wine regions of Europe and the U.S. filled him with the desire to craft wines with typicity, purity, and texture. Upon returning to New Zealand, David used his in-depth knowledge of the region, local family contacts, and international experience to search out unique microclimates that give the Black Cottage wines gusto.
