"Pinot Meunier, the king grape variety of the Belval Valley...
My life, my passion, my reason for being a winegrower.”

AT A GLANCE
Daniel Taillet officially founded the winery in 1956. After taking over for his father in 1995, Eric Taillet represents the 4th generation of grower/producers. Eric has worked their family vines in the Marne Valley for over 50 years starting at the age of thirteen. The focus is Pinot Meunier, the emblematic grape of this area. Pinot Meunier is Eric’s self-proclaimed; “Life, passion, and reason for being a winegrower.” 75% of the 6-hectare estate is planted to Meunier. With old-vine Meunier on diverse, living clay soils, Eric is in the process of organic certification and has not used chemicals in the vineyards for many years. His passion for the soil leads to fundamentally modifying the cultivation methods of the vine; the system of pruning, spacing of the rows, height of the vine, method of cultivation of the soil, etc. He tirelessly explores new ideas and methods like Vitiforestry, the use of trees and hedge groves in vineyard management to promote soil health and other natural benefits. Eric established the Meunier Institute, and it is his cuttings from old-vines that where selected to be cloned for the local Champagne nurseries.
