AT A GLANCE

Françoise, Béatrice, and Didier Mayard comprise the fifth generation of the famille Mayard with cellars in heart of the village of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The estate is spread across 43 hectares, some of them planted over a century ago, featuring a huge diversity of terroirs and grape varieties. The majority of the estate can be divided into two distinct plots, one to the south in “Grand Coulet” with sand, clay, and pebbles over Alpine diluvium soils, and the other in the east on the famous “La Crau” plateau with extremely old vines on clay and ‘molasses’ (sandstone and shale) from the Miocene period. Winemaker, Françoise Roumieux, leads this historic family estate into organic certification finished in 2020. Practicing organic.
