“Sur le Grand Marais” Brut Nature

Champagne, NV

90% Pinot Meunier, 10% Chardonnay

A lively impression of candied citrus and white fruits followed by more delicate truffle, mushroom, and brioche notes. On the pallet the bubbles convey dynamic freshness and bright sapidity that lingers with a distinctive truffle and brioche minerality with texture and poise. A summertime Champagne with great energy and brilliance.

POINTS OF INTEREST

One of Taillet’s top cuvees from a single 0.76-hectare parcel that was once the location of a marsh. This sight is special for many reasons. Planted in 1986, Eric is experimenting with Vitiforestry by planting trees in, and around, the vineyard. He doesn’t cut the vines, as is typical, but instead braids them to reduce stress. A co-fermented expression of single terroir identity in his hometown of Baslieux Sous Chatillon.
