VIGNOBLES MAYARD
Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Rhône Valley

La Crau de Ma Mere Blanc
Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Grenache Blanc, Roussane, Clairette, Bourboulenc
This white blend is full-bodied and expressive with dense floral aromatics supported by yellow apple, meyer lemon, peach, and white lavender. Even with such intense and expressive aromatics, the mineral core still shines through acting as an anchor to an otherwise extravagant wine experience. A very small quantity of white wine is made at the Mayard estate and it truly is a treasure.

POINTS OF INTEREST
This wine is sourced from 4 different grapes in two southeastern lieux-dits (vineyards), Mont-Pertuis and La Bigote, in Châteauneuf-du-pape. A combination of sand and clay strikes a balance between a rich full-bodied wine and a wine with an elegant lift. With just 500 cases produced from old-vines, this wine showcases the true terroir and beauty of the local indigenous varieties.

La Crau de Ma Mère Rouge
Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre
This is the top cuvée from the Mayard estate sourced from Grenache vines over 100 years of age. The concentration of fruit is truly exemplary with a lengthy, complex finish. Rarely do you find a wine with this level of richness that isn't over-ripe and heavy. The flavors are a dazzling combination of cherry compote, dried plum, mocca, cooking spice, and dried lavender. The palate revels an age-worthy character indicative of the world's great wines.

POINTS OF INTEREST
This wine captures a time and place in a truly special way. From a single parcel in the La Crau lieux-dit (vineyard) this wine expresses the hard work and dedication of 5 generations of the Mayard family. Patience, perseverance, and expertise are on display and transformed into a memorable wine. The blend is dominated by the very old Grenache vines (80%) with a little Syrah and Mourvedre, farmed organically, fermented with native yeast, and aged in large neutral barrels for 18 months.
