The Grand'Chaille is a reference to the flinty soils (Silex) of this vineyard and offers up subtle differences in both texture and flavor. Another important aspect for the character of these wines is the harvesting, at Domaine Thomas they practice green harvesting which limits the yields and helps the plants achieve phenolic ripeness and balance.

What makes this Sauvignon Blanc from Domaine Thomas stand out is the lush fruit character and texture achieved in the vineyards. Full and developed fruit flavors of citrus, grapefruit, crisp green apple, and wildflowers resonant from the glass. With great texture, a classic minerality lingers through the finish with crushed rock and refined herbal notes of balanced pyrazines (pyrazines express green, grassy notes).
POINTS OF INTEREST
The Thomas family has been growing grapes and making wine in Sancerre since 1670. Today, Julien represents the 13th generation to run the Domaine, farming 16 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir based out of the hamlet of Verdigny. He converted the estate to organic and biodynamic practices in 2012, using only indigenous yeast to ferment happy grapes that produce a wine of great pleasure.
