At A Glance

A classic Italian story born out of a passion for local history and tradition. In 2002, four families decided to unite their land and vision to make the best wines from the Lazio region just south of Rome. What makes the Pileum project special is the dedication to explore and experiment, in the vineyards and in the winery. Today there are three key members from the families, running the estate and farming organically small parcels that amount to almost 15 hectares. Alessandra Borgia, Flavio Carella, and Gian Marco Cioffi are pursuing a noble goal to not only make great wine but to better understand their historic region and the grapes that have existed here for thousands of years.
